Burg Simpson shareholder David P. Hersh was a featured speaker at a recent Arapahoe County Bar Association (ACBA) event in Napa, California.

The session, part of this year’s Spring 2018 CLE event, was called “The Practical Implications for Implementing the Recommendations of the ABA National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being.” David covered “the findings and data from the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being, which includes the problems lawyers face with substance abuse,” as well as depression, anxiety and stress, and how these issues can hamper an attorney’s ability to practice law. David also addressed additional research on “lawyer and law student drinking and drugging behavior, as well as mental health issues.” David’s interactive presentation went well beyond the theoretical, including hard data and practical solutions, as well as approaches stakeholders should consider.

The event was the latest in a regular series of continuing education events sponsored by the ACBA. The ACBA serves its members and the legal community “by furthering fairness and civility in accessing, utilizing and supporting the Arapahoe County legal system.”

David Hersh’s practice focuses on complex commercial matters involving contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, ownership disputes, construction matters, “bet your company” litigation, and professional negligence. David has handled a number of “toxic torts,” including being appointed class counsel for more than 65,000 residents of Colorado Springs to redress contaminated groundwater.
