Melissa L. “Mel” Roeder
Mel Roeder is an associate attorney in the Construction Defect practice group, diligently representing homeowners and community associations. Mx. Roeder earned their Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023, with a Certificate in Civil Rights and Racial Justice. During law school, they practiced as a student attorney in both the Environmental Law and American Indian Law Clinics, interned with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and worked as a law clerk for Burg Simpson, where they discovered and began to develop their passion for representing plaintiffs. They also served as co-President of CU’s OUTLaw organization and Treasurer of Women’s Law Caucus and enjoyed mentoring fellow students through those organizations, as well as teaching assistantships in Legal Writing and Criminal Law.
Prior to attending law school, Mx. Roeder taught middle- and high-school band and choir in Trinidad, Colorado and high school band in Fort Pierce, Florida, after earning their Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Florida State University in 2015. In their spare time, they continue to enjoy listening to and making music through their local chorale; playing video games and watching television; and spending time at home with their partner and pets.
