Austin Waisanen

Austin Waisanen is an associate attorney in the firm’s Cody office. Mr. Waisanen’s practice focuses on criminal defense, personal injury, and other civil litigation. Additionally, Mr. Waisanen has a special interest in land use law, civil rights law, environmental law and other areas where he can defend his clients against overbearing government officials.

While obtaining his undergraduate degree at University of Montana, Mr. Waisanen worked as a mounted wilderness ranger and trail crew person on the Shoshone, Bridger-Teton, and Flathead National Forests. Prior to going to University of Wyoming School of Law, Mr. Waisanen had worked in the Cody-area home construction industry as a carpenter.

At law school, Mr. Waisanen was ranked first in his class and received high marks in several classes, including Property Law, Oil and Gas Law, and Constitutional Law. Mr. Waisanen joined Burg Simpson as a law clerk his second year of law school and has been with us since.
