Caroline County, VA (December 3, 2020) – A gas explosion at a restaurant located in Caroline County sent three people to area hospitals with injuries. On the afternoon of December 3, emergency crews were called to the site of an explosion incident at the Crossroads 30/301 restaurant, which is located at 31286 Richmond Turnpike.

Reports from authorities show that at around 12:30 p.m., a propane gas explosion occurred in the kitchen area of the restaurant. The blast caused flash fire damage throughout the kitchen. Several people were injured in the accident. Three kitchen workers were treated at the scene by Caroline and Hanover County Fire and EMS workers before being transported to area hospitals for treatment. One victim was airlifted to Chippenham Hospital via MedFlight Helicopter. Two others were transported to VCU Medical Center via ambulance for burn injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
