Nantucket, MA (November 13, 2020) – An explosion incident in Nantucket caused severe damage to one home while leaving a man injured on Thursday afternoon. On November 12, authorities were called to the site of a fiery explosion on Woodbury Lane.
Reports show that a home on the island blew up, spreading debris everywhere. The home was completely leveled and several nearby homes were damaged. Shaking from the blast could be felt as far as 3-miles away. After the explosion, the home caught on fire. Firefighters responded to the site of the incident and battled the blaze aggressively before declaring the situation under control. A man, who was inside the home at the time of the incident, was located outside in a yard. The man was seriously injured as a result of the blast. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment. At this time, the explosion is under investigation with the State Police and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
