UPDATE: Denver, CO – Second Victim in Speer Blvd Crash Dies from Injuries
Denver, CO (January 28, 2021) – Authorities confirmed that a second victim seriously injured in the crash on Saturday involving a Denver fire truck has died. At around 1:30 p.m., on January 22, emergency crews were called to the site of a crash on Speer Boulevard.
Reports from authorities show that a fire truck was passing through the intersection of Speer Boulevard and Broadway Street when it collided with a sedan. The impact of the crash pinned the driver of the car, a 38-year-old female, and her passenger, a 53-year-old woman, inside. Both women were extricated by firefighters and rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the 38-year-old woman died from her injuries upon arrival. Late Wednesday evening, authorities confirmed that the second woman succumbed to her injuries. At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway.
