Las Animas, CO (July 4, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Friday morning left one person injured. At approximately 10:05 a.m., on July 3, the Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 50.
Reports from CSP show that a 17-year-old juvenile was traveling eastbound along the highway in a Chevy pickup when his vehicle struck a bicyclist just one mile west of Las Animas. The rider was ejected from his bicycle, incurring serious injuries. The victim was rushed to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center via ambulance then flow from the hospital to Memorial Central for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
