Update: Fort Collins, CO – Worker Killed in W Prospect Rd Collision
Fort Collins, CO (June 27, 2020) – Just before 10 a.m., on June 26, the Fort Collins Police Department responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on West Prospect Road.
Reports show that a 52-year-old male was traveling west on West Prospect Road in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when his vehicle collided with a four-member AUG construction crew at the intersection with Azalea Drive.
One worker involved in this collision sustained fatal injuries and was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene by the Larimer County Coroner. Three other workers sustained critical injuries. All three victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The Fort Collins Police Department determined that the driver of the truck was impaired at the time of the crash. He is facing three counts of vehicular assault, one count of vehicular homicide, and one count of driving under the influence. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
