Basalt, CO (June 29, 2020) – A second victim injured in the collision in Basalt last Friday has passed away from their injuries. On June 19, emergency crews from the Roaring Fork Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Colorado Highway 82.
Reports show that a two-vehicle collision occurred along Colorado Highway near the Holland Hills. One victim, the 65-year-old female driver, was killed instantly in the collision. A second victim, who was identified as a 39-year-old female, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs for treatment. The third victim involved in the crash suffered critical injuries in the accident and was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital then airlifted to Valley View for treatment. This victim was later transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction. Authorities confirmed that on Monday, June 29, the victim, who was identified as a 66-year-old female, succumbed to her injuries while still at St. Mary’s Medical Center. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
