Kit Carson, CO (June 27, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Friday evening claimed the lives of several victims in Colorado. Just after 6:30 p.m., on June 26, the Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 40.

Reports show that a pickup truck was traveling down the intersection when it attempted to pass a semi-truck, which was traveling in front of them in the westbound lane. As the vehicle entered over into the eastbound lanes of the interstate, near Forrest Avenue, it collided with a second pickup truck head-on.

The impact of the collision caused the first pickup truck, which was towing a boat, to burst into flames. Seven victims involved in this crash were fatally injured. All seven victims were declared deceased at the scene of the accident. At this time, the collision remains under investigation.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this accident.
