Colorado Springs, CO (June 9, 2020) – An on-the-job accident on Monday left one worker injured in the Security-Widefield area, according to police. On June 8, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Security Boulevard.

Reports from police indicate that a garbage truck driver was traveling down Security Boulevard when they became involved in a collision. The vehicle went off the road near Tewa Street and into a drain.

The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured in the accident and transported to a hospital in Colorado Springs for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the victim injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.

Workplace Accidents in Colorado

Colorado Springs, CO – Sanitation Worker Injured in Security Blvd CrashThousands of people die on the job each year across the country while numerous others are left with life-altering injuries. Workers who spend extended time out on the road are at an increased risk of being involved in collisions. Improper training, forcing workers to stay on the road for an extended time, and unpleasant driving conditions increase the probability for accidents to occur.

Many workers harmed on the job are unaware of legal options available to them. This is particularly true for workers harmed in traffic-related incidents. Workers are unaware of whether they need to go after their auto insurance policies, that of their employers, or explore other legal avenues available for them. In some cases, injured workers can obtain compensation for medical treatment, lost wages, and various other damages they face as a result of their accident. Victims should immediately reach out to Colorado personal injury lawyers in their areas to explore legal options available to them.
