Children’s Pajamas Recalled Because of Fire Hazard Concerns
Children’s pajama manufacturer Roberta Roller Rabbit announced April 24 a recall of nearly 32,000 sets of pajamas due to possible fire hazard. The pajamas, which come in 18 different designs and two styles, failed to meet federal regulations regarding flammability standards. The two-piece sets of pajamas came in size toddler 1 to youth 12 and were sold from January 2012 to February 2015.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission passed the Flammable Fabrics Act in 1953 to protect consumers from the hazard of highly flammable products. Under the FFA, clothing textiles, vinyl plastic film, carpets and rugs, children’s sleep wear, and mattresses and mattress pads have all been regulated.
As of the recall notice, no injuries or complaints had been reported by the company. However, customers who bought the affected pajamas were urged by the company to return the product to Roberta Roller Rabbit for a refund or replacement set. If not attended to, the pajamas could cause burns.
This is not the first recall of children’s sleep wear in April. Earlier this month, Smooth Industries, LLC. issued a recall of select styles and colors of its products as well.
