Workers’ Compensation Back Injury

A large majority of the cases I handle are back injuries. All of us are getting older so frequently the workers compensation doctor, picked by the insurance company or employer, will try to say that it is simply degenerative disc disease that caused the problem and not the work injury. This is unfortunately a frequent occurrence.

Don’t allow the insurance company doctor to say that you do not have a work injury simply because you have aggravated this underlying degenerative disc disease. An aggravation is treated the same as a new injury in Colorado. While that may be a factor in why the injury occurred or the severity of the injury it can still be a work related injury that entitles the injured party to workers compensation benefits.
