Michael Burg Inducted to Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame

Denver, CO – Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, PC is proud to announce that founding shareholder Michael S. Burg has been inducted to The Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame. The induction took place on April 21, 2016 during Mass Torts Made Perfect in Las Vegas, Nevada. This honor recognizes Michael’s lifelong dedication in representing clients over the last 40 years at the highest level. During his career, Michael has fought some of the largest multi-national corporations, such as General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, Merck, JP Morgan Chase, King World, UBS, and Moody’s to bring justice for consumers.

The Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame recognizes and honors remarkable trial lawyers who have left an indelible mark on the American legal tradition through a lifetime of service to the American public and the Constitution. Upon his induction to the Hall of Fame, Michael will join an impressive group of honorees, including legendary trial lawyers John Adams, Clarence Darrow, Thurgood Marshall, Melvin Belli, Johnny Cochran, Gerry Spence, and Louie Nizer.

For over 40 years, Michael has fought to protect the rights of Americans to receive a fair trial by jury.

This award is among many honors Michael has received in his 40-year career, including the Clarence Darrow Award and the American Association for Justice Heavy Lifting Award. Additionally, he was named one of the Top 50 Trial Attorneys in America by the Legal 500 from 2012 through 2015, Colorado Lawyer of the Year by Colorado Law Week in 2015, and was named Lawyer of the Year in Products Liability by Best Lawyers in America in 2015.

Additionally, Law Week Colorado named Michael the Lawyer of the Decade from 2000-2010, and he is Past President of the National Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Burg has been appointed to numerous leadership positions by Federal Judges around the country in a variety of high-profile Multi District Litigations, including being co-lead attorney in the Ortho Evra and Yaz/Yasmin litigations.

Michael graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1975. He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver since 1982. He is the first attorney from Colorado to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and the only University of Denver graduate to be inducted. His portrait will be displayed at the Beasley School of Law at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with the other members of the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame.
