Cedric and Denise Lodge and Others Indicted for Allegedly Stealing, Selling and Shipping Human Body Parts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Denver, CO—June 16, 2023— Cedric Lodge, a former morgue manager at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, was federally indicted on June 13, 2023, for alleged theft, sale and shipment of human body parts that were donated to Harvard Medical School for the purpose of research and education.

According to the indictment filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Lodge, “stole dissected portions of donated cadavers, including…heads, brains, skin, bones, and other human remains… and removed those remains from the Harvard morgue in Massachusetts, and transported them to his residence in New Hampshire.”

In its indictment, the federal government alleges that Cedric Lodge conspired with his wife, Denise, in the sale and shipment of the human remains to several others, including the owners of Kat’s Creepy Creations, Katrina MacLean and Joshua Taylor.

In 2019, Burg Simpson won a $58,500,000.00 verdict in the vanguard body harvesting and brokering case in Maricopa County, AZ, on behalf of multiple plaintiffs, whose loved ones’ remains were desecrated in a fraudulent and egregious body brokering scheme. “Since 2014, Burg Simpson has been at the forefront of Body Broker Litigation Nationwide. Our Mission is to hold accountable all those who abuse the trust of body donors and their loved ones. Whole body donation for medical research is a noble and honorable cause, and whenever someone violates the sanctity of that trust, it hurts Americans everywhere. In 2019, Burg Simpson won $58,500,000.00 in jury verdicts for 10 Plaintiffs whose loved ones were cut up, misused and sold for profit contrary to the donor’s express wishes,” stated David TeSelle, Burg Simpson Shareholder and lawyer for victims of body brokering, nationwide. “We are here to help.”

Like the victims whose loved ones donated their remains to Harvard Medical School in the generous interest of science and medical advancement, the plaintiffs in the Arizona case were victimized by the greed and outrageous disregard of individuals entrusted to respect the final wishes of their cherished family.
