Burg Simpson Attorney Jessica Breuer Files Federal Lawsuit Against Steamboat Springs School District Over Alleged Abuse of Students With Disabilities

Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C. has filed a federal lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado on behalf of several families of students with disabilities. Led by attorney Jessica Breuer, the complaint, filed on January 29, 2025, alleges that the Steamboat Springs School District RE-2 and multiple district employees created and allowed a hostile and abusive environment at Steamboat Springs High School. According to the lawsuit, students with disabilities were subjected to physical violence, verbal abuse, neglect, and discrimination, violating their civil rights under Section 1983 and related statutes.
