Unfortunately, insurance carriers sometimes fail to pay the benefits they promised to pay, or they fail to pay the proper amounts in a timely manner. When an insurance company unreasonably denies or delays a claim, these kinds of actions may be classified as a breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, or what is also called “bad faith.” If you believe that your company’s insurance carrier is acting in bad faith by refusing to provide the insurance coverage included in your policy, you could be entitled to file a bad faith claim against the insurance company.
