Cheyenne County, CO – One Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 40

Cheyenne County, CO (July 12, 2021) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a crash in Cheyenne County that ended in injuries. At around 2:30 p.m., on July 11, emergency crews were notified that a crash took place on Highway 40.

Reports from authorities show that a Honda HR-V and a semi-truck tractor-trailer were involved in a crash on Highway 40 near Kit Carson. The impact of the crash caused the Honda to roll over several times, ejecting both people inside. The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. A 26-year-old female inside the vehicle was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
