Killen Generating Station: Adams County Building Collapses in Ohio
Rescue workers in Adams County, Ohio were searching on Wednesday afternoon for two workers believed to be trapped in the remains of a former power plant building that collapsed.
The Killen Generating Station has been shuttered since 2018, but it has been undergoing demolition this year, as part of a redevelopment plan. Officials have stated that the roof of the main building collapsed this morning at about 8:30 am.
Three workers were unaccounted for, but early Wednesday afternoon one of the three was rescued and taken by helicopter to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. That worker’s condition was not known, but officials said he was conscious.
Earlier today, two other workers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
