On July 26, 2018, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of Orange Whip golf swing trainers manufactured by Jimmy Hack Golf following reports that part of the trainers can detach during use, posing a serious hazard to the user and those nearby. The Orange Whip golf swing trainer works by allowing users to practice their swing with a flexible shaft that has a weighted ball attached to it. According to the recall, the weighted ball on certain models can detach during use, becoming a dangerous fast-moving projectile. Prior to issuing the recall, Jimmy Hack Golf had already received 36 reports of the ball detaching from the training device.
