On February 7, 2017, Kingsway Trading Inc. issued a recall of Xanthium & Siler Combo (Bi Yan Pian) Dietary Supplement because it contains an ingredient, Ephedra Herba (ma huang), that was not disclosed in the supplement’s ingredients list and that has been banned by FDA.

Bi Yan Pian, sometimes called “Nose Inflammation Pills,” are often used to combat allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.  Whatever its benefits, however, according to the recall notice, the risks associated with the undisclosed Ephedra Herba ingredient in Xanthium & Siler Combo Dietary Supplement are unreasonable.  The Notice specifically states that “Dietary supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids [such as Ephedra Herba] pose a serious risk of adverse events, including heart attack, stroke, and death[.]”  Accordingly, Kingsway Trading Inc. has urged customers to return affected Xanthium & Siler Combo (Bi Yan Pian) Dietary Supplement bottles for a full refund.
