Former Cincinnati Gymnastics Coach Terry Gray Arrested
On Friday, July 10, 2020, former USA Gymnastics coach Terry Gray was arrested in the State of Nevada on multiple counts of Lewdness with Minor. According to local reporting, Gray had worked in Cincinnati prior to the 2000 Summer Olympics and coached at Cincinnati Gymnastics under Olympic team coach Mary Lee Tracey.
Gray’s arrest appears to be only the latest scandal to rock the gymnastics world. Sadly, its unlikely to be the last. Some studies suggest that each year 2 percent to 8 percent of minor-age athletes are sexually abused. Typically this abuse occurred in the abuser’s home, during practice or training, or at unrelated social events. Coaches, teachers, and instructors make up the vast majority of the perpetrators in these cases.
If you or your child are the victims of sexual assault at the hands of Terry Gray or any other athletic coach, teacher, or instructor, Burg Simpson can help. Our compassionate team of attorneys will stand with you to hold abusers accountable. Call us today at 513-852-5600.
