Batavia Township, OH (May 21, 2021) – Authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of one man in Clermont County. On May 17, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Ohio State Route 276.

Reports from authorities show that a 23-year-old man was riding a 2017 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle southeast on the roadway when he was involved in a collision with a 2011 Ford F-550 tow truck near Bauer Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the victim who lost their life in this accident. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Ohio

Although more than 3,160 motorcycle crashes result in injuries each year in Ohio, more than 150 victims end up losing their lives. Although these vehicles account for nearly 1% of all traffic on roads across the country, riders are victims in nearly 15% of all traffic fatalities annually across the United States. Motorcycle accidents involving multiple vehicles are more likely to result in catastrophic injuries. Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to the impact of other vehicles in collisions, to begin with. Being struck by multiple vehicles dramatically increases the chances of suffering from fatal injuries. Losing a loved one tragically and unexpectedly can have an overwhelming impact on surviving relatives.

When victims lose their lives in collisions, families are often left to deal with unbearable mental and emotional consequences. Many families are forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on funeral expenses, deal with lost earnings, and suffer emotional and mental consequences. When families lose loved ones in motorcycle accidents, due to the negligence of others, they should reach out to an Ohio wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible.
