Pedestrian Accidents in Nevada
According to statistics, one person is injured in a pedestrian accident every eight minutes in the United States. As a pedestrian, you usually have the right of way when it comes to crossing roadways. However, we continue to see a significant number of people harmed in accidents due to negligent and reckless drivers. Given the fact that pedestrians are completely vulnerable in collisions, they are often left with severe injuries that negatively impact their lives.
When it comes to getting justice following a pedestrian accident, it is crucial to prove that the motorist was liable for your injuries and damages. To do so, a victim must prove that the motorist was operating the vehicle in a negligent and unsafe manner. Some of the most common causes of pedestrian accidents in Nevada include:
- Drivers backing out of parking spaces without looking
- Drivers failing to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians in crosswalks
- Speeding while traveling in residential areas
- Turning right on red lights
In order to recover compensation following a pedestrian accident, a victim will need to prove that the defendant caused their injuries and damages. Working with a skilled pedestrian accident attorney in Nevada can help to ensure you are in the best position possible to hold negligent parties accountable for their actions.
