OHIO OFFICE INVESTIGATES CLAIMS AGAINST AMBETTER INSURANCE PLANS

The attorneys at Burg Simpson are investigating potential claims regarding the Ambetter insurance plans (Ambetter Balanced Care and Ambetter Secure Care) offered by Buckeye Health Plan, a subsidiary of the insurance provider Centene. The Ambetter health plans are insurance plans offered in the Affordable Care Act’s health exchanges in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nevada, Texas, Washington, and Ohio.

According to the Better Business Bureau, Ambetter has an “F” rating—the lowest rating—in Ohio due to multiple complaints filed that remain either unanswered or unresolved. Of those complaints, several reported signing up for the plan thinking that their doctor was in-network based upon the provider list on Ambetter’s website—only to find out later that their doctor, in fact, was not a part of the plan’s network.

Indeed, throughout the country, Ambetter policyholders have reported not being able to find, or having difficulty finding, medical providers who will accept Ambetter insurance, despite the fact that Ambetter lists numerous providers on their website. Reportedly the majority of providers listed on Ambetter’s website do not accept their insurance.

The Ohio office of Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh and Jardine have been retained to investigate claims against Ambetter and we are seeking additional information from Ambetter insureds who have had similar problems. If you or a loved one have purchased an Ambetter insurance policy from the Ohio Health Insurance Exchange and have had difficulty finding a provider who will take that insurance, call one of our experienced Ohio attorneys at (800) 713-9340 or fill out our contact form for a FREE no-obligation consultation today.
