TV 7 Interviews Michael Burg About the Heather Gardens Gas Explosion
The Denver Channel Interviews Michael Burg About the Heather Gardens Gas Explosion
A fatal gas explosion occurred in Aurora, Colorado on November 16th, 2018 when workers drilling underground pathways struck buried natural gas lines at Heather Gardens, an adult living community in east suburban Denver. The deadly blast killed an 82-year-old woman and leveled multiple homes. A spokeswoman for the Aurora Fire Rescue said that firefighters were at the retirement community on November 16th to investigate a gas leak when the explosion occurred.
Michael Burg, the founding shareholder of Burg Simpson, represented the family of the victim. Mr. Burg explained that the lack of gas pipeline management in the United States has contributed to hundreds of dangerous pipeline explosions and this has given rise to complicated legal personal injury claims. “Working with natural gas is a dangerous activity that requires industry workers to exercise the highest possible degree of caution, care, and skill. Gas distribution utilities are also required to comply with extensive federal and state regulation. When a gas explosion occurs, it is often due to a violation of these duties by a gas utility employee or contractor.”
Mr. Burg said, “The victims of gas explosions who have suffered a personal injury or property damage have a legal claim in these instances. But filing a lawsuit in a gas explosion case requires specific knowledge, experience, and expertise. Burg Simpson lawyers are familiar with the federal regulations, are conversant with engineering experts about probable causes, and have the resources to bring a gas explosion case to trial.” Michael Burg and his team have represented many victims of gas explosions in Colorado and other states for over 40 years.”
