At 4:14am on Monday, October 31st 2022, a devastating fire engulfed the Tiffany Square Apartments at 935 Sheridan Blvd. in Lakewood, CO, killing a mother and her 10 year-old daughter, and injuring 10 others, including a West Metro firefighter.  The fire displaced residents of all 32 apartment units.  The Lakewood police have launched a criminal investigation under the Major Crimes Unit.

It is unknown at this time the cause or source of the fire, but the involvement of the Lakewood Major Crimes Unit suggests there was an act of negligence or intentional crime.  Burg Simpson is investigating to determine whether the Tiffany Square Apartments met the minimum fire code and acted reasonably to protect its residents from the danger of fire.
