David TeSelle Selected by AAJ as Chairperson for Anti-Terrorism Litigation Group

Burg Simpson shareholder David K. TeSelle has recently been selected by the American Association for Justice (AAJ) as Chairperson for the new Anti-Terrorism Litigation Group.

The purpose of the Anti-Terrorism Litigation Group is to promote and to facilitate cooperation and sharing of information among its members in the representation of aggrieved parties who have or might have, any type of Anti-Terrorism. The Litigation Groups will also convene to provide educational programs relating to relevant litigation. They will work together to provide networking opportunities through AAJ list servers, meetings, and educational programs. Additionally, the group will provide pleadings, research, internal company documents (to the extent permissible under confidentiality agreements), expert information, and other materials. They will also offer assistance and guidance concerning the coordination of litigation. The members will work together for the common purpose of litigating cases successfully, and to attract new members to the American Association for Justice and Litigation Groups.

David K. TeSelle is an Arizona and Colorado licensed trial attorney and a Preferred Shareholder with Burg, Simpson, Eldredge, Hersh, and Jardine, PC. As the Co-Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Commercial and Business Litigation Team, Mr. TeSelle focuses his thriving practice on complex commercial and business litigation, construction defect litigation, personal injury, mass tort and class actions, and anti-terrorism law.

In 2019, he was lead counsel on one of the largest personal injury jury verdicts in Arizona’s history and secured a judgment of $58.5 million. He also represents and provides guidance to state and federal whistleblowers under the False Claims Act (Qui Tam Actions) when they expose fraud against state and federal governments.  Following the 2008 economic collapse, Mr. TeSelle battled some of the nation’s largest banks in litigation regarding “The Big Short” cases. Throughout his career, Mr. TeSelle has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. With over 25 years of experience, he has been consistently recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Colorado Super Lawyers, maintains a 10.0 rating with AVVO, and is AV Rated by Martindale – Hubbell. Additionally, he has been selected as a Top 100 Trial Attorney by the National Trial Lawyers Association and served as President of the NTL Business Torts section.

In preparation for his career, Mr. TeSelle obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York in 1991. He matriculated from Dickinson School of Law – Pennsylvania State University, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 1994. To further his professional development, he became a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Jefferson Bar Association, the Arapahoe County Bar Association (ACBA), the Colorado Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA).
