Burg Simpson attorney Rick Bailey recently co-authored “Hearing and Mishearing: Psychoanalytic Observations on the Attorney-Client Relationship”, with David Stevens Ph.D. for publication in the Western Michigan University Cooley Journal of Practical and Clinical Law [Vol.16.3 2014].

This article examines factors that contribute to how attorneys and clients may be at risk for misunderstanding each other’s communications and suggests practical steps to address this issue. “Our hope is that the perspectives offered will deepen the reader’s appreciation of the psychological complexity inherent in the attorney-client relationship.”
