The InQuiring Lawyer Dialogue: Bias, Diversity, and Inclusiveness in the Colorado Legal Community – Part III

This is the third in Burg Simpson attorney Ron Sandgrund‘s three-part series covering bias, diversity and inclusiveness in Colorado’s legal community. Part III concludes by examining the “inclusiveness” movement – an approach that seeks to improve diversity by making law firms and courthouses more inclusive and welcoming, even if their composition doesn’t match perfectly the communities they serve. As one dialogue participant, Verna Myers, says, “Diversity is being asked to the party; inclusivity is being asked to dance.”
Participants in the conversation include judges, lawyers, law professors, law students, a sociologist, CEOs and corporate counsel, and nationally-known bias and diversity experts.
