Burg Simpson shareholder Peter W. Burg earned another accolade this month with an appearance in the Summer 2017 issue of The Trial Lawyer magazine. Peter is the latest member of The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 to be featured in the quarterly trade publication.
The National Lawyers are committed to encouraging “a unique and professional networking opportunity for trial lawyers, while developing progressive ideas to pursue justice for those injured by the negligence of others, to educate the public about the importance of access to courts that are free of bias and undue influence, and to protect the American right of trial by jury.”
Peter’s interview with the magazine covered a variety of issues, but it’s the litigation attorney’s words of wisdom for the next generation of litigators that strikes home.
“Work hard to be good at your craft and enjoy the journey,” Peter advised younger attorneys. “I feel very fortunate to make a living helping injured people and battling for causes and values I believe in and that make a difference. Be passionate and compassionate. Find outlets that bring you joy and find philanthropic organizations and activities to give time, money and your heart to.”
Peter’s practice is concentrated on complex litigation in a wide range of substantive areas. Peter has developed a national reputation as a trial lawyer because of his extensive work with cases involving product liability, personal injury, and mass tort. The Legal 500 recognized Peter as a “particularly strong and intelligent leader” and shows “the ability to try cases when necessary and to settle cases for top value when settlement is clearly in the client’s best interest.”
