Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C. is pleased to announce that founding shareholder Michael S. Burg has been awarded the Clarence Darrow Award for his dedication and services to the legal profession. Mr. Burg was presented his award by Mike Papantonio at a gala luncheon attended by more than 250 leading trial lawyers, at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas on Friday, October 10.
The Clarence Darrow Award is nationally regarded as one of the most prestigious and highly coveted in the realm of trial law. Clarence Darrow, a trial lawyer and leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union, was renowned for moving juries and even judges to tears with his eloquence and, at the time, unconventional views.
Michael said of his award, “Clarence Darrow is a personal hero of mine. I remember reading his biography by Irving Stone when I was 12 years old. Reading Stone’s book inspired me to become a trial lawyer. I am honored to have received this recognition in his name.”
Burg Simpson senior shareholder Peter Burg said, “Mike is an incredible lawyer and selfless advocate for fairness and justice, just like Clarence Darrow. He is truly a worthy recipient of the Clarence Darrow award. I also know how honored and humbled Mike feels about receiving this very special award.”
