The attorneys at Burg Simpson do more than fight for the rights of victims of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. They help them reclaim their lives. That passionate belief is why Burg Simpson has chosen to support Denver’s own Phamaly Theatre Co.
The Phamaly Theatre Co. is a theater group made up exclusively of people with disabilities whose “mission is to inspire people to re-envision disability through professional theatre.” Five Boettcher School grads established the company in 1989 out of frustration over the lack of theater opportunities for the disabled. The award-winning group puts on several productions, workshops, and classes throughout the year.
For starters, Burg Simpson is a proud sponsor of Phamaly’s Big Night, set for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at The Space Theatre at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. This special fund-raising event includes refreshments at Backstage Coffee, the opening night performance of the Tony-award-winning musical, “Into the Woods,” followed by a champagne toast with the cast and crew of the production.
“Into the Woods” tells the story of a baker and his wife who, while trying to start a family, encounter “a host of fairy tale characters seeking the fulfillment of their own wishes and dreams.”
Burg Simpson is also proud to announce that shareholder Peter W. Burg will be serving on the theater company’s Advisory Council. Peter is one of the nation’s leading trial lawyers as well as one of the foremost legal experts in handling claims for victims of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. Peter is committed to educating the public about the consequences posed by these injuries and to helping individuals understand their legal rights.
Tickets for “Into the Woods” are still available and can be purchased here.
