Burg Simpson Attorneys to Participate in University of Wyoming Summer Trial Institute

July 15, 2016

Nearly 50 volunteer attorneys and judges will again provide intensive instruction to third-year University of Wyoming College of Law students during the 2016 Summer Trial Institute course at UW in August. This practical “hands on” course teaches students essential trial skills and strategies, with these future litigators receiving direct feedback from seasoned lawyers, judges, faculty and peers. Participation in a mock jury trial in front of sitting judges caps off the two-week long course.

Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C. attorneys David Hersh and Steven Greenlee are among the attorneys invited to the 2016 Summer Trial Institute to lecture, demonstrate, and provide feedback to students in this “boot camp” trial practice course.

“It’s always a pleasure to be back at my old law school with some great litigators teaching a focused and engaged group of future trial lawyers,” said Greenlee, who is participating in the program for the fourth year in a row.  “The Summer Trial Institute will definitely give these students a leg up when they start their trial work in the real world.”

David Hersh is also a longstanding volunteer, and he agrees. “The University of Wyoming creates “practice-ready” lawyers and the Summer Trial Institute is an important part of it. The enthusiasm and passion of the students and the faculty make this program a huge success every year.”

The Summer Trial Institute is part of the Trial Practice program at the UW law school, and is made possible by the collaborative efforts of the College of Law, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates.  Go to http://www.uwyo.edu/law/ for more information about the University of Wyoming Law School and its programs.
