Aurora, CO – 11-Year-Old Child Injured in Drunk-Driving Crash on N Chambers Rd near E 13th Ave

Aurora, CO (June 14, 2021) – One person was hospitalized with major injuries following a motor vehicle accident on Thursday evening in Aurora. At around 7:30 p.m., on June 10, emergency crews were requested at the scene of an accident on North Chambers Road.

Reports from authorities show that an 11-year-old boy was riding his bike southbound on North Chambers Road. As the child used the crosswalk to cross the intersection of East 13th Avenue, he was struck by a GMC Jimmy SUV. The boy was then dragged a significant distance down the roadway before the driver came to rest. Several bystanders were able to live the vehicle and pull out the child while awaiting medical assistance. The child was rushed to a local hospital for care. The 32-year-old driver of the GMC was subsequently arrested and now faces an array of charges for his actions. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
