Denver, CO – Man in Wheelchair Killed in Crash on W Colfax Ave

Denver, CO (September 11, 2020) – One person lost their life as a result of an accident in the Denver area early Friday morning. At approximately 7:30 a.m., on September 11, the Denver Police Department was requested at the site of a crash on West Colfax Avenue.

Local news sources report that a man in a wheelchair was crossing the road at the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and North Irving Street when he was struck by a vehicle after the driver ran a red light. The victim was critically injured in the accident. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver remained at the site of the accident and cooperated with law enforcement. He was cited for careless driving resulting in death. At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are ongoing.
