Eads, CO – Truck Crash on CO-96 Claims One Man’s Life

Eads, CO (August 22, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident claimed one man’s life in Kiowa County on Friday afternoon. Just after 12 p.m., on August 21, the Colorado State Patrol responded to the site of a collision on Colorado State Highway 96.

Reports provided by local authorities show that a 2003 GMC 1500 pickup truck was heading west on Colorado State Highway 96 when the vehicle collided head-on with a 2020 Kenworth semi-truck near mile market 182. The 30-year-old male driver in the GMC was killed instantly in the crash. The driver of the Kenworth, who was identified as a 65-year-old man, was seriously injured. The victim was airlifted from the site of the crash to a hospital in Colorado Springs. At this time, investigations surrounding the crash are ongoing.
