Colorado Springs, CO (June 4, 2020) – An auto accident involving two vehicles claimed two victims’ lives early Thursday morning in Colorado Springs. At 5 a.m., on June 4, the Colorado Springs Police Department and Fire Department were called to the scene of a major motor vehicle collision on South Academy Boulevard.

Reports from the CSPD show that a sedan and an 18-wheeler collided at the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and East Fountain Boulevard. The Ford sedan went underneath the semi-truck and became entrapped. Firefighters responding to the scene had to lift up the truck to rescue the victims inside the car.

Two occupants inside the sedan were declared deceased at the scene. A third victim, who was identified as an adult male, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. At this time, the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Major Crash Team is investigating.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this accident. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time.
