Buena Vista, CO – Fire Off US-24 Claims Two Lives & Left One Injured
Buena Vista, CO (June 14, 2020) – A fire incident in Buena Vista claimed two victims’ lives and left one other seriously injured, according to reports. At approximately 1:30 a.m., on June 11, the Buena Vista Fire Department and Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a house fire just off US Highway 24.
Reports show that a fire broke out at a residence just one mile north of Buena Vista for unknown reasons. The home quickly became engulfed in flames, trapping the four residents inside. A woman and a boy were located inside the home deceased. A man was critically injured and airlifted from the scene to a local trauma center. A girl was uninjured and released to a relative at the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
