Honoring the Memory of Fallen Denver Police Officer, Alson McCasland

The Jeremy Bitner Fallen Officer Fund

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 11:00 am, The Jeremy Bitner Fallen Officer Fund Board of Directors will be participating in a ceremony to honor fallen Denver Police Officer, Alson McCasland. Officer McCasland’s department motorcycle collided with a car on May 23, 1935, and he died from his injuries 41-days later. Officer McCasland was one of the first officers in Denver to ride a motorcycle and had been assigned to the traffic squad for ten years. The ceremony is being sponsored by the Denver Police Museum and the Denver Police Department. Please join us in honoring Officer McCasland on Saturday, September 7th at 11 am at the Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.

The Jeremy Bitner Foundation was established in honor of Englewood Police Detective Jeremy Bitner after he lost his life in the line of duty in 2012. The Jeremy Bitner Fallen Officer Fund is made up of individuals from both the public and private sector who are dedicated to honoring the memory of officers who have lost their lives while protecting and serving members of the community. Burg Simpson shareholder Nick Fogel, the practice group leader of the firm’s workers’ compensation department, helped to develop the fund as an inaugural board member. The Jeremy Bitner Fallen Officer Fund purchased a gravestone in order to mark Officer McCasland’s gravesite.
