Lewis A. Osterman is an associate in Burg Simpson’s Mass Tort Litigation Department. Mr. Osterman focuses his practice primarily on defective drug and device litigation. A Denver native, Mr. Osterman joined Burg Simpson in September 2017 after graduating with honors from Boston University School of Law. While in school, Mr. Osterman served as the Special Projects Editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine and participated extensively in moot court, winning Best Brief Award in the BU Law Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition and competing in the Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition. Mr. Osterman also assisted pro se claimants with gathering medical evidence and asserting claims in the New England Compounding Center bankruptcy proceedings.
Lewis Osterman is the 2019 co-team leader at Burg Simpson for Craig Hospital’s annual charity bike ride, Pedal for Possible (P4P.) An avid cyclist, Lewis is in charge of putting together a group of participants from both inside and outside the firm to support the event that is organized to benefit Craig Hospital and its programs. This year’s event offers courses for all skill levels, including a 10K, 30K, 50K, 100K and even a 100-mile event. This is the sixth year that Burg Simpson has been a proud sponsor of the Pedal 4 Possible event, and the firm has been a long-time supporter of Craig Hospital and its mission of helping survivors of spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Craig Hospital is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top 10 rehab centers every year over the last three decades. Burg Simpson’s team of experienced injury attorneys have worked with TBI and SCI victims for over 40 years, and a critical part of that effort is the firm’s passionate support of Craig Hospital and the work it does.
Mr. Osterman is currently admitted to practice in Colorado.
