Alisha Taibo Coombe

Associate

Alisha Taibo Coombe is an experienced trial attorney on the commercial litigation team.  Coombe joined Burg Simpson after many years running her own practice where she served as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem representing children in dependency and neglect cases and delinquency cases, and represented clients in general civil litigation, complex construction cases, domestic relations, criminal defense, and probate.  Coombe is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence and previously served on the Board of Directors at Gateway Domestic Violence Services.  She has been a regular volunteer on KUSA Channel 9 Law Line and serves on the Community Service Committee of the Arapahoe County Bar Association.  Coombe regularly serves the community through pro bono legal services and conducts regular donation drives to serve those assisted by Arapahoe County Department of Human Services.  Coombe previously served as Arapahoe Bar Pro Se Legal Aid Clinic Chair, the Continuing Legal Education Committee Chair with on the Judicial Nomination Commission of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association.

 

Prior to pursuing a career in law, Coombe served in the U.S. Army for four years, and worked at Janus Capital Group as a research associate on the investment team, primarily covering retail, luxury goods, travel, and healthcare sectors. Coombe earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Colorado Law School in 2009 and was admitted to practice in Colorado the same year. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

 

Originally from Houston, but having moved to Colorado at a young age, Coombe still says “y’all,” can eat her own weight in chips and salsa, and thoroughly enjoys all that the beautiful Colorado outdoors has to offer with her husband and their four kids.
