Burg Simpson Attorneys Named Colorado Super Lawyers
DENVER (April 1, 2006) -- Burg Simpson attorneys, Michael S. Burg, Peter W. Burg, Scott J. Eldredge, and David P. Hersh were named Colorado Super Lawyers by Law & Politics Magazine.
Law & Politics selects the Super Lawyers through a polling process designed to recognize exceptional attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only the top 5 percent of attorneys in a particular state or region are selected as Super Lawyers. Colorado Super Lawyers Magazine was distributed to attorneys throughout the state of Colorado and was featured in a Special Advertising Section in 5280. Super Lawyers magazines are published and distributed throughout 20 states.
Michael Burg has earned a national reputation as a trial lawyer handling cases including mass tort, commercial, catastrophic injuries, and professional malpractice litigation. Mr. Burg is involved or has been actively involved in a number of mass tort actions, including the Ortho Evra birth control patch, Vioxx, Zyprexa, Bextra/Celebrex, Zicam, Ephedra, Trileptal, Fen-Phen, Rezulin, PPA, Propulsid, and Guidant and Medtronic defibrillators. Currently, he is a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee for the Zyprexa Multi-District Litigation, a Member of the State Liaison Committee for the Vioxx Multi-District Litigation, and most recently was appointed at co-lead counsel in the Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch Litigation.
Peter Burg has developed a national reputation as a trial lawyer handling cases including mass tort litigation, product liability, pharmaceutical torts, spinal cord and brain trauma, and other catastrophic injury claims. Recently, Mr. Burg was appointed to the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee for the Bextra and Celebrex Marketing Sales Practices and Product Liability Multi-District Litigation in the Northern District of California. In addition to Bextra and Celebrex, Mr. Burg represents or has represented those injured by Vioxx, Zyprexa, the Ortho Evra birth control patch, Propulsid, Rezulin, PPA, Fen-Phen, Ephedra, and Guidant and Medtronic defibrillators as well as other drugs and devices.
Scott Eldredge practice has increasingly focused on complex medical / legal issues, medical malpractice, large product liability cases and drug product cases. He was one of the first lawyers in the country to successfully sue on behalf of women injured by medications containing phenylpropanolamine (PPA). Mr. Eldredge has also developed a strong appellate practice and regularly appears before the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court.
David Hersh has served as lead counsel in commercial loss cases with damages well into the hundreds of millions of dollars including antitrust, RICO and COCCA claims, residential and commercial building collapse, business demise and business interruption, and environmental losses. Mr. Hersh has acted as lead counsel in lawsuits against contractors, engineers, construction managers, and owners in construction litigation on both commercial and residential projects.
