Mr. Whalen focuses his practice on commercial litigation, products liability, and personal injury law. He represents clients in a broad range of civil and commercial disputes. Mr. Whalen assists clients in a variety of settings, including trials, appeals, arbitration, and mediation.

Mr. Whalen has represented clients in complex product liability cases involving defective design claims against automobile and ATV manufacturers. Mr. Whalen has substantial experience in Mass Torts litigation related to the Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents Product Liability Multi-District Litigation and the Yasmin and YAZ Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Multi-District Litigation. Currently, Mr. Whalen is a member of the Plaintiff's Discovery Committee in the YAZ Multi-District Litigation. Furthermore, Mr. Whalen has served as lead associate in multiple gas explosion cases and has represented clients in securities litigation involving the sale of unsuitable securities and investment advisor disputes. Mr. Whalen actively litigates personal injury cases on behalf of victims and their families involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and insurance bad faith. In 2009, Mr. Whalen participated in Rick Friedman's "Rules of the Road" & Don Keegan's "Reptile Plaintiff's Revolution" Seminar. Mr. Whalen attended the Mass Torts Made Perfect Conference in 2011 and serves on the Executive Board of the Mass Tort Trial Lawyers Association (MTTLA). Furthermore, Mr. Whalen is a graduate of the 2011 American Association of Justice (AAJ) Trial Advocacy Depositions College.

Mr. Whalen dedicates a substantial amount of time engaged in philanthropic and community-based activities. In 2009, Reeves traveled to Haiti to build an orphanage outside of Port Au Prince with Center of Hope. Thereafter, Reeves raised funds to help finance a group of medical professionals that traveled to Haiti to assist in earthquake relief efforts through NOAH NY. Since 2008, Mr. Whalen has served as a youth mentor through the Denver Rescue Mission's Save Our Youth Mentorship program. In November 2010, Mr. Whalen created and organized "Women in Law, Politics and Media" through Girl's Incorporated of Metro Denver (GIMD). The panel was comprised of strong successful women in law, politics, and media from the Denver Courts, Colorado State Legislature, Channel 9 News, and the Denver Post. Each speaker discussed their background and career path, how stereotypes and gender may have contributed to adversity in their professions at some point, and how they successfully overcame those issues. GIMD is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of educational, enrichment and empowerment programs for girls ages 6 to 19 who are mostly from high-risk, underserved areas. Furthermore, Mr. Whalen annually participates in the Denver Bar Association's Guest Teacher program in cooperation with the Denver Public Schools. Reeves recently participated as a guest teacher and volunteer at the Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.

In 2010, Mr. Whalen organized and participated in a CLE Seminar on Immigration Reform at the University of Denver and moderated a forum on Education Reform at the University of Colorado, Denver. In 2011, Mr. Whalen organized and participated in an education policy debriefing with Colorado Lieutenant Governor Joe Garcia, Colorado's Executive Director of the Department of Higher Education.

Currently, Mr. Whalen serves on the Board of Directors for The American Constitution Society (ACS), The Golden Triangle Association (GTA), Save Our Youth (SOY), The Anschutz Medical Center Cancer Fund (AMC), and The Girls Athletic Leadership School (GALS).

In 2011, as the Arapahoe County Bar Association's Community Service Co-Chair, Mr. Whalen coordinated volunteer efforts to assist Project C.U.R.E. in packaging and sorting medical supplies and equipment at their Colorado headquarters. Project C.U.R.E., Commission on Urgent Relief & Equipment, was founded in 1987 and builds sustainable healthcare infrastructures by providing the medical supplies and equipment that medical personnel in more than 120 countries need to deliver healthcare to their communities.

Furthermore, he was a former Finance Chairman and current Co-Captain for House District 5 and currently sits on the Executive Committee for the Democratic Party of Denver. Reeves has served on Finance Committees for Former Colorado Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff's 2010 U.S. Senate Campaign, Mayor John Hickenlooper's 2010 Gubernatorial Campaign, and Former State Senator Chris Romer's 2011 Mayoral Campaign. In 2011, Reeves Whalen was appointed by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock to serve on the administration's Transition Team as Co-Chairman for the Department of Excise & Licensing. 

Mr. Whalen was recognized by Colorado Law Week as a Finalist for their "Up & Coming Attorney" Edition. In 2010, Mr. Whalen was selected by Colorado Law Week as a Finalist for "The Compleat Lawyer." Mr. Whalen was also designated as a Finalist for the Colorado Bar Association's 2010 "Young Outstanding Lawyer of the Year Award." In 2011, Mr. Whalen was named a "Forty Under 40" rising star by the Denver Business Journal. The "Forty Under 40" award recognizes young and dynamic business leaders who have demonstrated excellence in business, and a dedication to Denver's wider community. Mr. Whalen has been featured and covered extensively in The Denver Business Journal, The Denver Post, Colorado Law Week, The Colorado Statesman, AAJ Trial Magazine, The University of Denver Law Magazine, Westword, and Education News Colorado. 

Reeves Whalen earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dickinson College and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. While in Law School, Mr. Whalen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence A. Manzanares, Denver District Court.
